Title: Manager â€" SAP Business Intelligence (BI)

Purpose
The, Manager â€" SAP BI is a key technical leadership & hands-on role that has accountability for managing the implementation of the strategic plan & providing day-to-day technical leadership for the SAP BW and BusinessObjects teams in Bangalore. This role will be responsible for delivering all projects / technology services to build SAP BI (BW & BO) solutions to drive business intelligence & analytics for the organization. This position will be responsible for consistently enhancing the team’s capabilities, adoption of relevant & beneficial new technologies, productivity improvements & driving innovation.
Responsibilities
• Collaborate and implement the overall enterprise SAP BI strategy.
• Deliver SAP BW & BO services and projects from India, ensuring that these solutions align with the organization’s strategic direction and technology standards.
• Lead technical deliveries of all projects / programs on SAP BW & SAP BusinessObjects suite of tools â€" SAP BO, Crystal Reports & Lumira
• Own SLA’s for data availability in SAP BW and reports/dashboards in SAP BO
• Forecast and plan resource requirements. Allocate work across team to ensure timely delivery of projects / enhancements
• Serve as a subject matter expertise in the areas of SAP BI. Review code from the team.
• Build / Strengthen the relevant SAP BI capabilities on the team & drive continuous productivity improvements
• Identify and initiate resolutions to user problems and concerns associated with existing & new data solutions that are build & supported by the team
• Hire, train, and supervise India based data engineering & reporting team members and ensure that team delivers the required data solutions for the business
• Evaluate, recommend, implement and maintain data engineering & management tools that drive business benefit
• Drive innovation in the space of SAP BI
Education
Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Information Systems/Mathematics/Sciences
Preferred: Master’s Degree in Computer Science/Information Systems
Required Qualifications
• 10+ years of related SAP BW / BusinessObjects work experience, including 3+ years in a managerial / team lead role
• Experience in SAP BW 7.3 or higher, preferred BW on HANA or Native HANA modeling
• Proficient in BW Development, implementation, support & upgrades.
• Accomplished hands on experience in HANA Calculative views, BW Data model, BW ABAP, data provisioning using SAP BODS aka Data Services, administration & user management.
• Experience in SAP BusinessObjects suite of tool â€" SAP BO 4.1 or later, CRE, CR 2013 or higher, Lumira & SAP Design Studio
• Solid understanding of Information design tool, Universe design, Web & Desktop intelligence & integration with SAP BW & other relational database
• Prior experience on SAP HANA & Lumira will be preferred
• Expert level proficiency in data warehousing concepts & data modeling
• Good knowledge on SAP Retail functional areas â€" preferred FICO, MM, Project Systems
• Hands on experience in SQL, expert in any one or more relational database.
• Good exposure to any ETL tool like DataServices, Data stage or Informatica
• Knowledge in any one of scheduling tool preferred Control M
• Proven leadership experience in leading & mentoring SAP BW / BO teams
• Ability to achieve results, manage multiple tasks and objectives in parallel, and manage the technical and cultural issues associated with change.
• Excellent written, oral & interpersonal communication skills.
• Prior experience in working in a global (onshore / offshore) delivery model. Agile/Rapid development delivery experience is preferred.
• Experience in Retail domain is preferred.
